Katherine Hughes is a writer, director, and actor from New York currently based in Los Angeles who has spent the past decade immersed in on-set experience. Her on-screen appearances include Me, Earl & The Dying Girl (Sundance Film Festival’s Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award Winner), Byron Balasco’s Kingdom (DirecTV), Mark Boal’s Echo3 (Apple+), and Tell Me Lies (Hulu), among others. Her directorial debut, Yellow Belt Fury, showcased her talents behind the camera and opened doors to opportunities as an emerging director including writing assignments with major studios and a development deal for her first feature. Katherine is passionate about high-concept film and television and aims to champion women in the action genre. In 2022, Katherine became one of the founders of Not Your Daddy’s Films, a social impact organization committed to empowering and educating women and non-binary creatives through screenings, panels, and workshops. In 2024, she graduated from UCLA majoring in gender and film.
