Katherine Hughes is a writer, director, and actor from New York currently based in Los Angeles who has spent the past decade immersed in on-set experience. Some of her on-screen appearances include Sundance Winning, Me, Earl & The Dying Girl, Byron Balasco’s Kingdom, Apple TV’s Echo 3, and Hulu’s Tell Me Lies. Her directorial debut, Yellow Belt Fury, showcased her talents behind the camera and opened doors to opportunities as an emerging director including writing assignments with major studios and a development deal for her first feature. Drawing inspiration from filmmakers like Edgar Wright along with dark comedy from writers like Diablo Cody, Katherine is passionate about high-concept genre film and television. In 2022, Katherine became one of the founders of Not Your Daddy’s Films, a social impact organization committed to empowering and educating women and non-binary creatives through screenings, panels, and workshops. In 2024, she graduated from UCLA majoring in gender and film.
